Beth Rippin

Beth Rippin is a fine art photographer based in Leeds and the Peak District.

In her photography, she is particularly interested in the sculptural aspect of rock formations, presenting them in artificial lighting and accentuating their surrealistic presence. Working at night, she undertakes long mountain walks to locate the natural rock formations that intrigue her.

Rippin’s work is situated at the intersection of land art, British surrealism, and walking art. Through the use of light and shadow, she brings out the rocks’ otherworldly qualities, inviting viewers to reconsider their everyday surroundings.
