I create work in the field of expanded photography.

Starting from ideas of land as body, body as land, the underlying connectedness between people and place. I investigate how this exists in indigenous ways of thinking as connected: a fluid entity within the human psyche, and how this allows a greater empathy between people and place.

Using printmaking and direct exposures of hair, I explore hair, something of yet outwith the body, and the ways in which it has existed in folklore, history and cultural memory.

Working with a trust in the materials I use is important to my practise, generating a relationship between artist and work that is co-operative.
