Jessica Cherrie is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice blends contemporary dance
and action painting to explore the synchronous relationship between nature and
womanhood. Deeply inspired by her Cherokee heritage, she incorporates traditional
Native American rituals – such as choral singing and interpretive dance – into the
creative process. By painting in tandem with movement, each mark on the canvas
becomes a direct reflection of Jessica’s body in motion, resulting in dynamic, abstract
works that embody raw expression and connection to the natural world.
