The figures I create are deeply intimate creatures. They are the manifestations of emotions and desires of mine, bursting out from another realm and impossible to quite make sense of. They are often tinged with grief, seeming misshapen and tender. My practice is influenced by both personal loss and my experiences resisting a government driving climate breakdown and the genocide in Palestine, and acknowledging the mass suffering and death these are causing.

Yet, bird-like as they are, they cannot help but be a symbol of hope. Of peace. Of freedom. So these pieces also carry in them the resilience and love that allows me to keep fighting and keep striving to live in joy.
