My practice investigates and represents the feeling of nostalgia, connection, and passing time – exploring how nostalgia can help us to navigate the past, present and future.

I gather hundreds of documentary-style images of everyday moments, using a digital camera from my childhood, and wait for nostalgia to surface. By identifying the most meaningful and impactful imagery relating to connections and place, I digitally montage these images to produce ambiguous, metaphorical compositions – fluctuating between abstraction and representation.

I aim to materialise time and value by experimenting with chemicals, corroding and oxidising the photomontages into and onto metal. The processes and outcomes inspire mindfulness, acceptance, and appreciation in the everyday.
