My practice explores the everyday as a space for play and performance. Set within a single location – the model’s house – my photography is as much about the intimacy between performer and photographer as it is about the visual content of the image.

Through this ongoing collaboration, I navigate tensions between the stylised and the natural, blurring a documentary approach with constructed composition. The use of costume, colour and props is influenced by my interest in fashion photography. I treat Mia’s home as my set, styling her in ways that aesthetically compliment the space, drawing from visual language of fashion imagery which inspire me.

The result is a body of work which is aesthetically pleasing yet unconventional. The photographs take on an uncanny quality which confuses as much as it comforts. Mia becomes a stickered character practicing the mundane, transforming it into a playful activity. The domestic becomes a stage for her performance.
