I believe drawing, painting and sculpture, complement each other while offering completely different forms of expression. Either way, having a multimedia practice has helped shape my work as my interest has always followed the themes of movement.
At the heart of my creations now is the exploration of memories and nostalgia; particularly centred around the physicality of dance, and the sacred ritual that seems to take over this type of movement. Dance embodies a sixth sense, a language of the soul that connects the mundane to the mystical. The dancers or figures I depict are caught in motion, capturing an ephemeral and almost otherworldly essence. These figures invite the viewer to recognize something familiar, offering a shared moment of experience through dance. My intention is to evoke not just a memory of movement, but a collective recognition of dance as a universal, spiritual ritual.
